Sick of It All are trying to carry on without the man who sang for them for thirty eight years. Pete Koller said as much in a video statement on 13 September, and said it was his brother's instruction rather than the band's decision.
"Before Lou passed, he said a couple of things that he wanted us to do," he said. "He wanted us to keep the band going." Then, immediately: "I'm not sure how we're gonna do that, but we're working on it."
Lou Koller died on 24 July at 59. Doctors found a tumour in his oesophagus reaching into his stomach in 2024 and the band cancelled a European tour so he could be treated. He was told he was clear in May 2025; that September it came back. His brother is now the only member left from the two who started the band in Queens in 1986, in a year that was supposed to be its fortieth.
The second instruction was a message to pass on. "He wanted to tell everyone thank you for giving him like such an amazing life. Touring the world, your job is playing your favourite music." Pete Koller also thanked the people who gave to the benefit efforts during the illness, and said there are things in the works that he will announce when there is something to announce.
