Rise Above Dead have released Voices Fade Away, the second song out from Voidmass, which Argonauta Records issue on 27 November.

The heaviness they are after does not come from volume. It comes from erosion, from the sense that something solid is going before the listener notices, and the song is built to make that audible: oppressive atmosphere, dynamics that brood rather than build, and a weight that stays restrained until it is not.

The title describes what the record is about. Voices, memories and certainties disappear gradually, and the arrangement follows that rather than illustrating it. Six tracks in all, moving between atmospheric sludge, dissonance and something close to film music, with the band pushing further toward a vocal led approach than they have before.

They have worked out of Milan for years, long enough to be described as veterans of the Italian post metal underground without anybody arguing. Drowning Slowly was the first song out from the album.
