Saor have released a video for "Carved in Stone MMXXVI", a new version of a song that first appeared on Roots, the project's debut from 2013. It is taken from Caledonia, which Season of Mist releases on 6 November.
The label says the song carries "ancient carvings and ancestral prophecy" into the project's present sound.
Saor is the project of Andy Marshall, who is credited with the composition, vocals, electric and acoustic guitars, bass and pads. The guests are Carlos Vivas on drums, Ella Zlotos on female vocals, tin whistle, low whistle and uilleann pipes, and Àngela Moya Serrat on violins.
The original was also on Roots / Aura, the 2015 reissue that paired the first two albums. Saor's most recent album is Amidst the Ruins from 2025, and Origins came out on Season of Mist in 2022.
