Sarcosuchus have dated their first album. De-Extinction is out on 13 November through Horror Pain Gore Death Productions, nine tracks on CD and digitally, and Dissection By Design is out from it now.

Five years from forming to a debut full length is slow for a band this heavy, and what filled the gap was one single in 2022 and a demo in 2023. The Long Island scene they come out of runs on shows rather than records, so a label album is the step that takes a band outside it.

What they play is two things at once. The foundation is old school death metal in the Suffocation and Internal Bleeding line, which is local history for a band from that part of New York, and over it sits the breakdown driven slam of the last ten years. The label's own list of reference points runs from Dying Fetus and Pyrexia to Peelingflesh, which is a thirty year spread.

Dylan Quiroga plays guitar and sings, Vlad Rudnick has been on bass since 2021 and Luis Severino took the drums in 2024. The band are named after a prehistoric crocodile and have called the album De-Extinction, which tells you roughly how seriously the artwork takes itself.
