Sarlic Bliss have released Beneath The Black Sun, the first song from Melodies Of A Dying Dawn, with a video.

The band name their own reference points, which is unusual and useful: My Dying Bride, Draconian and Swallow The Sun. Those three agree on tempo and disagree on almost everything else, so the list is a way of saying the record goes for weight through atmosphere rather than through volume.

They also point out that the line-up includes former members of Midnattsol, which is the clearest signal of all about where the melodies come from.

Six songs across forty five minutes, as the album announcement already set out, which is the length epic doom songs are supposed to run and an unusual discipline for a second record.

It arrives on 27 November on CD and vinyl, and the vinyl is a limited run the band sell themselves, which tells you the size of the operation behind a record that sounds this large.
