Saxon have confirmed the second European leg of the Gods Of Thunder tour, running through March, and the Eagle is coming with them.

That is the thirty foot mechanized stage prop built in the early 1980s, when the band were preparing to tour Denim And Leather, by a Midlands company called LSD, out of airport runway landing lights. It will be up for the Brussels, Zurich, Cologne and Tilburg shows and nowhere else, which is a matter of what fits through a door.

"We're bringing the Gods Of Thunder tour across to Europe," says Biff Byford. "It's gonna be awesome! Can't wait to open the heavens and bring on the metal."

The run opens on 1 March in Brussels and goes through Hamburg, Copenhagen, Helsinki, Oslo, Erfurt, Prague, Budapest, Nuremberg, Stuttgart, Zurich, Munich, Berlin and Cologne, with the two Italian dates on 18 and 19 March.

Tickets go on sale across four days: Italy on 27 October, Zurich on the 28th, Oslo on the 29th and everything else on the 30th.
