Wind Of Change, the Scorpions biopic, now has a North American release. Deadline reports that Roadside Attractions will put it in cinemas there in March 2027.
That is two months after Germany, where Warner Bros. Germany opens it in January, and it answers the question left hanging when the German date was the only one anybody had.
Prentiss Fraser of Fox Entertainment Global described a band still selling out rooms from Germany to Mexico and the United States, and a film about ambitions that went past fame, about music crossing borders and bridging political divides.
Roadside Attractions put it more bluntly. Howard Cohen and Eric D'Arbeloff said the hits helped define the MTV generation but that few people know the story of a band who wanted to take their music past the Iron Curtain, and that the belief underneath it is that artists can move people to change the world.
Whether a film can carry that claim is a separate matter, and the band's history with it is complicated enough to be interesting. Shooting began in early 2025 at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden outside London, with Dominic West, Alexander Dreymon, Ludwig Trepte, Ed Speleers and David Kross in the cast.
A trailer is out, and it leans on the song rather than the band.
