Second To Sun have filmed a video to keep Thunderbolt moving, almost two years after the EP first appeared.
Its release history is the story here. It went out independently in February 2025 as a download, came back in April through Regolith Records on CD, and then went out a third time last December, independently again, on CD once more. Three releases of four songs is not a reissue campaign, it is a band refusing to let a record disappear.
That is a recognisable position for a Russian band since 2022. Distribution outside the country has mostly stopped working, labels abroad are cautious, and a group that cannot tour the way it used to is left with the one record it already has and whatever it can do to keep it visible.
The band have worked from Saint Petersburg since 2011, in the post black metal register where the guitars are kept clean enough to hear the arrangement. The new film is the fourth piece of promotion attached to the same four songs.
