Sentries release their first album, Disciples of Void & Fire, on 4 November through Amor Fati Productions, on CD and vinyl. Dying Stars and Skies Ablaze, the second track, is out now.

Six songs, and not one of them is short. The briefest is Lacerations of Ages at five minutes and twenty six seconds, the longest Into the Dawn Beyond Mortality at seven fifty six, and the record runs a little over forty one minutes in all. The band say the six are meant to work as separate chapters and as one journey at the same time.

There are four of them and they are named by initials. RH sings, HC plays guitars and bass, DV guitars and ambience, MDK drums. The members come from Belgium, the Netherlands and Norway, and between them have played in Taubrą, Ilhalung, Oerheks, Silver Knife, Häxenzijrkell, Woudgilde, Quaet Gespuys and Deadspeak.

Amor Fati describe the album as deliberately abrasive rather than immediately accessible, built on speed, melody and atmosphere in roughly equal measure, with anxiety and tension kept at the centre and the melodic ideas returning across the six pieces. Shazzula took the band photograph.
