Serpent Skies have released "Where Is Your God", the second and final single from Hollow Crown, which arrives on 20 November.
It follows "The Colors of My Truth" and goes at faith and doubt, the announcement describing a song about what is left when the familiar answers stop working. Jani Stefanovic of Lightcrest Visuals made the animated video, with additional editing by Ludvig Setterlind.
The gap behind this record is the real news. The band formed in Gävle in 2012, put out the EP Graveyard Poets the same year and then A Claim to Reality, and nothing in the album format since. Hollow Crown is their second full length in fourteen years.
They work in the classic Gothenburg shape, which by now is less a style than a dialect spoken across most of Sweden. What tends to separate the bands using it is whether the melodies carry weight or only decorate, and two singles is not enough to say which this is.
