Sharon Osbourne has filled in what the Ozzfest announcement left out, and the answers go well past a festival bill.
About half the line-up is confirmed, she told Hits Daily Double, and she hopes the same acts play all three events, for the straightforward reason that it would be less work. The three dates went out without a single name on them, which is why anyone was asking.
Her reason for reviving it at all is plain enough. She wants it for her grandchildren and for everyone who loved Ozzy Osbourne. He is dead but not forgotten, she says, and he left a great body of work.
Two pieces of that work have not been heard. She confirmed that two unreleased songs he recorded with Andrew Watt are going to a biographical film about him rather than to a record.
The last thing she said is the one that will not go quietly. She alleges that missing Black Sabbath recordings, studio tapes and live tapes both, are being held by someone in an ongoing dispute with the family.
