Shores Of Null release Homesick on Friday through Dusktone. Ten songs, and three of them have already had films made for them, which for a death doom band is an unusual amount of advance work.
This is the band who in 2020 released Beyond The Shores, a single piece of music lasting thirty eight minutes with five guest vocalists on it. Coming back from that to ten separate four and five minute songs is a deliberate correction, and the titles here read like a record about leaving rather than about dying.
The Roman band have always sat between doom and melodic death without committing to either, and the ones who do that well are rare: it usually produces a record that is slow without being heavy. Theirs are heavy.
Dusktone, the Italian label, have had them for several records now. "Two Mountains" was the first song out and remains the best indication of where this one sits.
