Silvertomb have put out "Brain Matter/No God" with a lyric video. It is the third song from The Interpretation Of Nightmares, which SPV and Steamhammer release on 13 November.
The band is Kenny Hickey and Johnny Kelly, who played guitar and drums in Type O Negative, with Aaron Joos and Joseph James. That lineage sets the expectation and the band spend most of their time arguing with it: the songs are slower and heavier than most of what gets called heavy metal, but the humour and the gothic theatre of the old band are not transplanted wholesale.
The previous song from the record was written while Hickey believed he was close to death, which he said plainly at the time. A title like this one suggests the record keeps looking in the same direction.
It is their second album and the first in seven years. Four weeks to go.
