Sirenia will play the Legend Club in Milan on 1 November, their only Italian date on the tour marking twenty five years of the band, with Vallorch opening.
One date in a country that size is a decision rather than an oversight. Italy has been among the strongest markets for symphonic metal for two decades, and a band on an anniversary run choosing a single club show there says something about how that circuit has contracted: the festivals absorb the summer, and what is left in autumn is one room per city.
Morten Veland has led the band since founding it in 2001, after leaving Tristania, and has written everything since. Four singers have come and gone in front of him, which is the unusual part of a twenty five year run: the voice people associate with the band has changed four times and the music has not.
Vallorch are the Italian support.
