Skid Row have a singer again. Justin Sargent takes the job after more than two years in which the band did not play, and he comes from New Jersey, which is where the band started forty years ago.

The search was not small. Submissions came in from singers all over the world, and earlier this year the band brought in the retailer Sweetwater to widen it further. "We were so fortunate to receive so many audition submissions," Snake Sabo said, "but I think that the moment Justin walked in the door we all kind of knew he was the guy."

Rachel Bolan put it the way bass players do. "It felt like he had been here from the beginning as soon as he walked in the room. He was one of us. A lifer. Then he sang with so much power and conviction, it blew me away."

Sargent says he has been singing these songs for years without expecting to be asked. To mark the announcement the band have put out a recording of The Who's Won't Get Fooled Again with a video, produced by Nick Raskulinecz, which is a deliberate choice of song for a band introducing its fourth singer in forty years.
