Skinless have finished writing the follow up to Savagery, eight years after that record came out, and will go into a studio in early 2027.

The band gave the reason for the gap themselves, and it is not a dramatic one. "As we say, we're a DAD METAL band and we do what we can with available time," they wrote, which is the most honest sentence a brutal death metal band has published this month.

The practical news around it is encouraging. A cover and a title are finished, Relapse Records will put the record out again, and the band are aiming at a 2027 release. For a group that has split up twice and come back twice, having the artwork ready before the studio is booked suggests the thing is further along than an announcement of this kind usually means.

They also have a film credit in the meantime, on the soundtrack of Deathgasm 2, where the band's shirts turn up throughout as well.
