Slava Zima will release Smiarotny, eight tracks, on 4 December through Solistitium Records.

Solistitium is a German label with a long memory, one of the names that carried Eastern and Northern European black metal through the nineties, and a Belarusian band landing there means the record will reach shops and distributors that a self released one never would.

What they play sits between black metal and doom rather than alternating between them, which is a harder balance than it sounds and the reason the band's records run long and slow.

This is the fourth album in six releases, and the title, like most of their work, is in Belarusian, which rules out a certain kind of audience and keeps the rest. Singing in a language almost nobody in the market speaks is a decision bands in that part of Europe make deliberately, and it has never stopped the records travelling.
