Solystalgia have made a video for Funeral, taken from their self titled debut, which Nameless Grave Records put out in June.

Four months is a long gap between a record and its first video, and for a band this new it usually means the album found an audience after the fact rather than before it. Death doom moves at that speed in every sense.

The project came together in 2025, which makes the album the first thing anybody heard from them, and the name is a near miss for solastalgia, the word coined for the grief of watching a place you live change beyond recognition. Whether that is the intention or a happy accident, it fits a record that spends its length on exactly that feeling.

Nameless Grave have built a catalogue out of the slow and the unpleasant, so the album is where it belongs. Funeral is streaming now with pictures.
