Somn release Consecration on 20 November through AOP Records, and have put out The Loyal Hand, the song that opens it.
The record follows one man caught in a machinery of power that promises a great deal and delivers only suffering: blind obedience, pointless bloodshed, and an identity worn away until there is nothing left of it. The statement the band sent with it ends on an order rather than a conclusion: "Thou shalt seek neither rest nor death."
Four compositions across a little over thirty-six minutes. The Loyal Hand is the short one; Tower of Flesh and the title track both run past ten minutes.
The Saint Petersburg band formed in 2017 around guitarist Oleg Salnikov and drummer Timur Yusupov, with bassist Mikhail Kurochkin and guitarist Artem Selyugin completing it. Members have played in Show Me a Dinosaur, Trna and Olhava.
