Inferi have said that Stevie Boiser will leave the band after their next tour. The run opens on 5 November at Dingbatz in Clifton, New Jersey, and the band are asking people to come and see him off.

The reason given is the one that is almost never given plainly: after nearly a decade, three albums, an EP and what the band call countless tours, he is stepping away to spend more time at home with his family. There is no fallout in the statement and no gap left for anyone to read one into it. The band say they are thankful, wish him well and will be actively looking for a replacement.

Those three albums are Revenant, Vile Genesis and Heaven Wept, which came out this year, with the EP Of Sunless Realms in between. That is the stretch in which this Nashville band went from a technical death metal name to one of the ones other bands in the style point at.

Psycroptic, Cognitive and Summoning The Lich are on the tour, which runs through Hamden, Montreal, Quebec City, Ottawa, Toronto, Detroit, Chicago, Milwaukee, Menomonie and Winnipeg.
