Stormruler have announced Morning Nautical Twilight for 4 December on Distortion Music Group, and released the first single from it, Chapter II: In The Eye Of Umbria.
The band is two people from St. Louis, Jason Asberry on guitars and vocals and Jesse Schobel on drums, and their records are chapters of one invented history. Asberry told the label that this track is the second chapter of what they call the Imperial Chronicles, and the first one set in the present day of Aurelia, the realm the whole thing takes place in. He also said the song goes somewhere the band have not been before, with groove led rhythms and folk melodies pushed further forward than on either previous album.
They released Under The Burning Eclipse in 2021 and Sacred Rites and Black Magick a year later, both on Napalm Records, then signed to Distortion Music Group this year and put out a standalone single, The Dark Age Of Deception, before this announcement.
