Five years from forming to a first album, and no label involved at any point. Stryga release Upon Stygian Wings on 1 October, on their own, through Bandcamp.
The ten tracks are To Dusk the Fell Harbinger, The Grand Silence, Queen of the Open Grave, Putrid Mind, Cursed From the Pit, Swords to the Necks of Tyrants, Wretched Husk, Befoulment, Stirring of the Second Soul and Stygian Wings of the Stryga.
The band came together in Boston in 2021 and are filed as black metal with hardcore in it. The stryga the band is named after is the revenant of Slavic folklore, and the album title and the closing track both come back to it.
