Suicide Silence are touring without Mark Heylmun. The guitarist has withdrawn from the Reminders Of Hell run to concentrate on his sobriety and his mental health, and Jordan takes his place for the dates.
The tour opened on 6 November in Riverside, the day before the announcement, and runs to 13 December in Los Angeles, with Emmure, Angelmaker and Synestia supporting. Graceless, the band's eighth album, arrives on 20 November in the middle of it.
Heylmun put it plainly. "After A LOT of thought, I've decided not to go on the Reminders Of Hell tour. Right now I need to put my sobriety and my mental health first." He is explicit that this is not a departure: he stays in the band and keeps working behind the scenes.
What he says about the road is the part other musicians will recognise. "I've had to accept that life on the road has always been a difficult environment for me, and if I want to keep doing this for years to come, some things need to change." He thanks the band for standing behind him and Jordan for stepping in, and finishes with the line that he has work to do.
