Sycomore have put out Chat-Loup with a video, the first song from Dégradé, their fifth album.

Three things change at once on it. The line-up is new, the words are in French, and the songs are shorter and land faster. What does not change is the weight: sludge that closes in, post-hardcore underneath it and noise rock scraping the edges.

The lyric is a chase. Fear, running, faces that stop being faces, eyes that are hostile by default, and the pull between getting out and staying put and looking like everyone else. Etienne Sarthou mixed it.

The trio formed in Amiens in 2015 and have four albums behind them on Source Atone, Argonauta and Uproar for Veneration, plus more than a hundred shows with the likes of Amenra, Coilguns, Hangman's Chair, Oxbow and Will Haven.
