Testament have been added to Welcome To Rockville 2027, along with The Amity Affliction and The Prodigy.
That last name is the one worth stopping on. A Daytona festival that has spent a decade booking American rock radio putting a British rave group on the bill, three decades after they were the loudest thing at Glastonbury, says more about where these events are heading than any metal booking would.
The festival runs from 6 to 9 May at Daytona International Speedway, its sixteenth year, and Danny Wimmer Presents is still releasing the bill a handful of names at a time. The previous instalment brought Bullet For My Valentine, Sullivan King and Vana.
Announced so far, with the full bill promised next week: Bullet For My Valentine, Poppy, Chad Gray, Loathe, Black Veil Brides, Vana, Sullivan King, The Prodigy, Testament and The Amity Affliction.
Ten names for a four day festival at a speedway is a fraction of what will end up on the poster, and the order of the drip tells you who the promoter thinks sells tickets. Testament arriving in the third instalment rather than the first is itself a small piece of information about where American thrash sits on a bill like this in 2027.
