Diamond Rowe of Tetrarch will perform at the NFL's Sunday Night Football game on 11 October, when the Atlanta Falcons host the Baltimore Ravens at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Kick off is 8.20pm Eastern, and what exactly she will play has not been announced.

She put the reason it matters better than any press release would. Last year she was in that stadium watching Metallica, the band that made her pick up a guitar at twelve. This Sunday she walks into the same building as the artist on the bill.

Atlanta is where she is from, and the band she built there moved to Los Angeles to chase exactly this kind of opportunity. Tetrarch's records sit between metalcore and nu metal, which is the end of heavy music that American sport is prepared to put on a stadium screen.

A guitarist from a metal band playing inside an NFL broadcast reaches a number of people no tour can, and the collaboration came from the Falcons rather than from a label, which is the detail that tells you who wanted it.
