The Gathering have put out Echoes Of Mandylion, a live album recorded across five nights at Doornroosje in Nijmegen between 27 and 31 August 2025. Those concerts were the first in eleven years by the line up that made Mandylion, the vocalist Anneke van Giersbergen included.

The album carries every song from Mandylion, which came out in 1995 and is where the Dutch band left death and doom metal behind for the atmospheric writing that followed. Van Giersbergen had joined shortly before it, and it is still the record the rest of their catalogue gets measured against.

The anniversary is the reason for the timing, and the five concerts were staged as special one offs rather than the start of a tour. The band announced a hiatus in January 2014 and came back in 2017, which is where the eleven year gap in the original line up comes from.

Thirteen tracks, the album in its own order, from "Mandylion" to the closing "Sand And Mercury", with nothing added from the rest of the catalogue. Echoes Of Mandylion is out digitally and exclusively through Bandcamp.
