The Great Sea have released Thirteen Moons through AOP Records, with a video and with Pelle Ahman of In Solitude singing on it.

That guest is the whole headline for anybody who was paying attention in 2013. In Solitude made three records and then stopped at the exact point where the rest of the world had started listening, and Ahman has appeared very rarely since.

AOP are the right label for that kind of booking. Their roster is built on German and Scandinavian bands who work slowly and sell steadily rather than quickly, and they handle the physical side themselves.

Thirteen moons is the number of lunar months in a solar year, the extra one that calendars have to absorb, and it is a title that fits a band whose music is about things that do not quite fit.

They already have shows booked for next year, and this is the first new music to go with them.
