The Heathen Scÿthe have released "Carmina Pagani", their first song for Combat Records, with a video that took a cast and crew of more than seventy people and three days of filming.
That is an unusual amount of production for a band with no album yet, and it follows from what they are building. Everything they release sits inside one story: an order operating six hundred years after an apocalypse, using time travel to go back and recover what nature based religions knew. "The music video finally expands the band's narrative by showcasing time-travel missions, proving that all ancient religions carried the same connection with Nature," said the singer, Da'ath.
Caio Cobra directed it, two days at the Quanta studio complex and one on location in Guararema. The lyrics stay on the same ground: the earth, ancestral tradition, the turn of the seasons.
They call what they do post-apocalyptic pagan metal, which in practice means classic heavy metal with industrial, power metal, doom, metalcore and black metal pulled into it. The band formed in 2022 and have put out a self-titled EP and three singles since. A debut album is being prepared, with no title and no date yet.
