Trafalgar Releasing and Mercury Studios are putting Ozzy & Black Sabbath: Back To The Beginning into cinemas worldwide as an event release from 28 October. Tickets go on sale on Thursday 24 September at backtothebeginning.com.
The film is the record of the sold-out show at Villa Park in Birmingham on 5 July last year: a solo set from Ozzy Osbourne, and then Black Sabbath with Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward, the four of them on a stage together for the first time in over twenty years. It was filmed seventeen days before Osbourne died.
Around the performance the film carries what the day actually was: musicians who came because of them, talking about it, and footage from behind the stage. Birmingham is where the band started and it is where this ends, which is the whole reason the show was called what it was called.
