TodoMal have released a live film of Mare Ignis, the song that opens Graveyards of Joy, recorded at Revi Live in Madrid during the Dark Echoes festival on 25 September.
Putting out a live version of an opening track rather than a studio video is a small decision that says something. A band whose records are slow and wide has to prove it can carry that weight in a room, and the only way to prove it is footage.
They have six weeks to carry it a good deal further. From 4 March to 18 April they are across Europe with Moonspell and Iotunn, which puts an atmospheric doom project in front of gothic metal audiences every night for a month and a half.
Season of Mist call them Anglo Spanish, and the line-up bears that out: Christopher B. Wildman sings and plays guitar, with Javier F. Milla on bass, Javier Felez on guitar, Javier Martinez on drums and Cecilia Tallo on keyboards.
The album is their third since 2020, which for music that moves this slowly is a quick rate of work.
