Tortured Demon have signed with BLKIIBLK Records, put out a single called "Apocalypse", and start headlining a UK tour next week. All three in the same announcement.
That sequence is worth noticing. A young band usually gets the deal and then disappears for eighteen months while a record is made, and the signing is announced into silence. Here the label arrives with a song already out and a run of rooms already booked, which means the deal was done around a plan rather than a promise.
Two albums in already, which for a band of brothers from the north of England playing thrash with metalcore timing is more than most manage before anyone signs them. The tour opens properly on 22 October in Glasgow.
BLKIIBLK is a small operation and that is the point. The alternative for a band at this level is another two self released albums and another year of booking their own rooms, and the thing a label of that size actually buys is the time back.
