System Of A Down are marking twenty five years of Toxicity with a week long exhibition at Beyond The Streets in Los Angeles, opening on Tuesday 13 October. It is free and open to the public for the whole run.
What is in it: rare artefacts and ephemera from the Toxicity era, installations, the iconography, and the history around how the record was made and received. Not a listening party and not a merch pop up, though there is exclusive merch as well.
The album came out on 4 September 2001 and went straight to number one on the Billboard 200, a week before the event that made half its lyrics read differently for everyone who heard them afterwards. It has not been out of circulation since.
The band play Sick New World Texas in Fort Worth on 24 October, and then South America and Australia in January and February with Faith No More: Rio on 15 January, Sydney on the 22nd, Melbourne on the 27th and Brisbane on 1 February.
