Traumatomy released Ascension Of The Ineffable today through Gore House Productions, and the arithmetic is the first thing worth noticing: two years of work, twenty four minutes of music.

Eight tracks, opening with Entropic Obliteration, the first song written for it. Everything was written and produced by the band's guitarist and founding member, with Konstantin Ogarkov mixing and mastering.

"Konstantin Ogarkov brought a special sound to this album," the band say. "The sound is raw but at the same time sharp and brutal." That is the balance slam almost never gets right: raw usually means thin, and brutal usually means compressed into mud.

The subject matter is Lovecraft's cosmic horror crossed with what the band call the bleak absurdity of crime television, which is a stranger pairing than it sounds and explains the artwork Jon Zig made for it. Faster and rawer than before, with the grooves and breakdowns still where they belong.
