Evil Needs Candy Too came out in 2006, went out of print, and has been hard to find for years. Trick or Treat have brought it back, and they have not scanned the tapes: the whole album has been re-recorded by the line-up that plays now, with Simone Mularoni mixing and mastering at Domination Studio and a new cover by Alessandro Conti.
That is a different proposition from an anniversary reissue, and a riskier one. A reissue asks you to buy the record you remember. A re-recording asks you to accept that the band plays those songs better now than the twenty four year olds who wrote them did, which is a claim about the twenty years in between as much as about the songs.
The band formed in Modena in 2002 and have made nine albums since, through the two parts of Rabbits' Hill, a record built around the twelve signs of the zodiac, and Ghosted, the most recent, on Scarlet Records. Melodic power metal with the creepy furniture and the jokes kept in, played fast, for twenty years.
