The trolls have reached Hollywood and found it closed: Trollfest have released Claiming the Walk of Fame, the second and final single before Trollywood, their tenth studio album, out 6 November through Reaper Entertainment. It follows Day Drinking.
The video, made by the band's own Mr. Seidel, follows three trolls set on a star of their own. “Unfortunately, they soon discover that the golden age of cinema is long gone,” the band said. “What remains is a cold, grim world ruled by greed and futuristic technology.” The song carries the album's running joke about an entertainment industry built on ambition and very little else.
On the music the band are less coy. “Musically, it has everything a respectable TROLLFEST song needs: thunderous drums, ridiculously long drum fills, catchy melodies, crushing riffs, and an epic middle section,” they said, adding that underneath it there is “a little jab at our obsession with fame, recognition, and beautiful faces.”
Across the eleven tracks the band reach back for the rawer energy of their early records while keeping the larger arrangements and the sudden turns that have become their signature. Jacob Hansen mixed and mastered it at Hansen Studios. The band play Oslo on 29 January 2027 at John Dee with Vanvidd.
