Turnstile were midway through "T.L.C." at their benefit show in Washington when Brendan Yates noticed a fan being walked out of the backstage area by security, and solved it by pulling her onto the stage.

Footage going round shows a young woman in a Turnstile shirt crowd surfing to the front, then getting past the barrier and into the restricted area, evading staff more than once before they caught up with her. Yates first tried to get security's attention over the microphone. When that went nowhere he reached down, took her hand and brought her up, and she stayed there until the song ended.

It is the second time this month. On 5 October the band stopped a show in Oklahoma City until a guard accused of punching a fan was removed, which was a harder situation handled in a harder way.

The Washington date was a free benefit run with Human Concern International, with donations going to relief work in Palestine, Sudan and Lebanon. Organisers said more than 150,000 dollars had come in before anyone played a note.
