The live album Type O Negative have been assembling is close to finished. Kenny Hickey told Scott Penfold of Loaded Radio that he is almost through editing and compiling it, and that the tapes are going to Mike Marciano, who mixed the band's records when they were still a band.
Marciano built a studio in his house in Pennsylvania and has already mixed Love You To Death from the set. Hickey said it sounded great, which is why the rest is following. He is aiming at the first quarter of next year, and the reason is practical rather than artistic: the vinyl takes months to press, and a record cannot go out the week it is finished.
The other thing he mentioned is the one collectors will read twice. Drummer Johnny Kelly recently recovered a cassette from the writing sessions for October Rust in 1996, and on it is a song that was never released. Hickey thinks it is called Prometheus. He was not certain of the title, which tells you how long the tape sat somewhere.
The band stopped in 2010. Thirty years after October Rust, the archive is still producing things nobody knew were in it.
