Ulthima have a second album coming on 27 November. Midnight's Call goes out through Inverse Records and runs ten tracks, five years after Symphony of the Night, which was the first.

Two of the ten are already out. White Raven came first and Echoes of Silence followed, and the rest of the order is the title track, Under the Moonlight, Endless March, The Opening, Shadowplay, Lost Painting, Lake of Abyss and The Beauty, the Witch.

The band is sixteen years old and has moved a long way in that time. It started in Monterrey, in the Mexican state of Nuevo León, in 2010, with Antonio Valdés on bass and Ricardo Escobar on lead guitar, and it is now half based in Finland: Ville Nummisalo came in on drums and Niko Sutinen on keyboards in 2018, Tuomas Antila took the vocals the same year, and Luca Guagneli joined on rhythm guitar in 2022. That is how a Mexican band ends up on a Finnish label with a Finnish singer.

Metal Archives files them as melodic death metal and nothing else, and the five years between albums are the only long gap in a catalogue that otherwise runs on singles. Four of those came out before the first album and two this year before this one.
