Underdark have released "Death of a Toolmaker" from O Come Forth Annihilation, out on 6 November through Church Road. It is their third album and they describe this song as the heaviest and most unforgiving thing they have written.

The subject is specific rather than general. "It is about the rhetorical tactics politicians use in order to gain access to power under the guise of being a man of the people," the band say, "only to immediately enact repugnantly cruel domestic and foreign policy at the whims of the billionaire class." British post black metal has been political since this band started and they have never softened the phrasing.

Seven tracks, opening with an overture and closing in the register the titles suggest. "Foucault Wept" is on it, which tells you where the reading comes from.

Vinyl through Church Road, the London label that has quietly assembled most of the interesting heavy music coming out of Britain in the last five years.
