Urarv have released "Dødheimsgard", the first song from Nychta Psychis, their third album.
The band explain it as a thought rather than a subject: "'Dødheimsgard' aims to point towards a specific goal whilst, at the same time, giving us the opportunity to realise that the pointer is not the goal." The music does something similar. The black metal underneath is stern and orthodox, and the structures built on it are not, without the strangeness ever becoming the point.
They formed in 2003 between Raufoss and Oslo, and have taken their time: Aurum in 2017, the EP Argentum in 2018, Substratum in 2023.
