Vanishing Point have put out "Sirens", the second song from the album that ended six years of silence and arrives on 20 November.
The guitarist Chris Porcianko puts the subject plainly: "the downfall of humanity, wherein we are very much alive with technology, yet at the same time our morality lies dormant and deteriorates". He goes on about attention spans and about being "run by a world of fools", which is a lyric sheet many bands have attempted and few have made work in a melodic register.
The useful line is the last one. "'Sirens' continues where Dead Elysium left off, they are both connected." That album came out in 2020 and was the last thing the Australians released before the silence, so the band are telling you the new record is a continuation rather than a reset.
It is out as a lyric video. The album follows on 20 November.
