Veilburner have put All That Glimmers Is Gloam online in full, two days before Transcending Obscurity release it. It is their ninth album, and the thing worth noting is that it is also their ninth release: nine albums, no EPs, no singles, no splits, since 2014.
That is close to unheard of now. A black and death metal duo from Pennsylvania putting out a full record roughly every fifteen months, each one about the length of this one, with nothing in between to keep anyone interested in the meantime. The previous one arrived less than a year ago.
Nine tracks across forty eight minutes, and the titles do what the titles always do here, which is bend a sentence until the grammar gives out: "Oblivion is Yours to Labyrinth", "So Mote it Chasm". The label describes the record as a maze in which every pursuit leads to another dissolution, which is at least consistent with the song names.
Mephisto Deleterio and Chrisom Infernium remain the whole band. There is no line up to change and apparently no reason to stop.
