Vigil will release Primordial Rites, their first album, on 30 October through Shadow Kingdom Records, on CD and vinyl. Nine songs, about forty minutes, and the announcement leads with the music rather than with a biography.
"Nocturnal Hunger" is the first piece of it: fast, composed rather than merely quick, with mid tempo sections held tightly enough that they do not read as a rest. The riffs are written to move a room, not to be admired from a distance.
The quintet come from Richmond, Virginia, and have a demo from 2023 and the single "Blood Dust" behind them, plus a live reputation that got out ahead of the record.
