Viled release Ascension Into the Immortal Aeon today through New Standard Elite. It is their first album and the band formed last year, in Ibarra in Ecuador.
All ten titles carry a bracketed second half: Uncreated Grim Manifestation (Pre-Cosmic Aberration), Throne of the Timeless Void (Sovereignty of Null Eternity), the title track with (Metamorphosis Beyond Mortal Causality) after it, and on through to The Nameless Beyond Infinity (Transcendence into Absolute Non-Form). Doing it once is a flourish. Doing it ten times out of ten is a format, and it tells you what the record is reaching for before a note of it plays.
New Standard Elite have Throne of the Timeless Void out as a lyric video. For a label whose roster is built on slam, a debut this cosmological in its naming is a little unusual, and that is in its favour.
