The formation of VOIDHAVEN was an expedition towards unexplored territory. In 2016, a crew of five seasoned veterans, who had previously sailed on vessels like Ophis, Fvneral Fvkk, and Remembrance, embarked from Hamburg to conquer unknown terrain. The crew claimed this newfound territory, christening it VOIDHAVEN, and it became the epicenter for their artistic pursuits.
The melancholic doom metal offered by VOIDHAVEN is a blend of various components that create an atmosphere of oppressive yet nurturing gloom. Their lyrical repertoire incorporates skeptical world watching, critical reflection of social relations, addressing inner struggles, and weaving haunting tales.
VOIDHAVEN's first musical product, the 'Voidhaven' EP, was distributed in collaboration with Solitude Productions in 2018. Despite undergoing a line-up change, a pause due to a pandemic, and personal circumstances that challenged the crew, they returned in October 2022 to produce new material. The album 'Lithic', their latest offering, started distribution in June 2023 with Ardua Music.
