Vomitory will tour Asia for two weeks across November and December, headlining, with most of the dates and venues confirmed.
Asia is not where a Swedish death metal band of this vintage normally goes. The circuit that sustains them is European festivals and clubs, and a headline run on the other side of the world costs more to reach than it can usually earn back. Doing it anyway, thirty seven years after the band formed in Karlstad in 1989, says the audience there has grown enough to pay for the flights.
What they play has never needed translating. Vomitory write Swedish death metal at one speed, with no melodic concession and no clean vocal anywhere in the catalogue, and that is exactly the kind of band that travels: nobody has to follow the words.
Metal Archives dates the band to 1989 in Karlstad, with ten albums in nineteen releases, which is a long time to have changed nothing on purpose.
