Watcher are streaming Mistress of Our Time in full on the NWOTHM channel, three days before Dying Victims Productions puts it out on 25 September. Ten songs, and four people playing them, which is three more than the band started with.
Viktor Gustafsson founded it in 2023 and did everything himself: the debut Key to the Unbreachable and the Glory or Agony EP were both recorded that way in 2024. Guitarist Max Warnby and drummer Jakob Nilsson arrived at the end of that year, and the three of them made Chains of Crystal in the spring of 2025 and played Muskelrock. Timmy Lindgren came in on second guitar late last year, before this record was recorded.
What they are aiming at is named precisely: Heavy Load, Gotham City, Axewitch, Torch and early Europe from home, Ostrogoth, Grim Reaper and Sortilège from elsewhere. Not the thrash end of that decade: the melodic one, with swords and sorcery on top. Sorceress, which opens the album, has a video.
