American Black Metal outlaws United States Wayfarer have just released an explanation clip, titled "Black Metal of the American West", where the band offers a brief introduction to their approach to making music, pointing to their unique combination of the American "Wild West" Frontier of centuries past with modern-day Black Metal.
The videoclip was uploaded today through the Century Media Records YouTube channel, you can watch it below:
Since its inception in 2012, Wayfarer has labored under hundreds of different guises to craft a unique sonic signature that is at once terrifying and adventurous, mysterious and evocative - an Americanized version of Black Metal with deep roots in the European traditions from which it sprung. We know what you are thinking: Western Black Metal? Surely this is some kind of joke! And there it is - the beauty of being a small band in 2014 is that you can do whatever you want - and U.S. Wayfarer is at once doing exactly that while also paying homage to their favorite musical genre's rich tradition.
Further you can watch a video from their last album, "A Romance with Violence", released in 2020 by Profound Lore Records:
