Wayfarer have opened pre-orders for Riders of the Setting Sun through Vesperian, and released "Hollow Hearts On The Trail To Eden", the seventh track, with a video.
The album's cover is by Tony Stella, the artist known for his film posters, and is among the last works he completed before his death earlier this year.
It is also the first Wayfarer album produced by someone outside the band: Ben Chisholm, of Chelsea Wolfe's band, with James Barone of Beach House and Iver Sandøy of Enslaved recording and mixing. The label describes the result as folding post-punk, American folk and rock and roll into the sound the band has built over a decade, a step away from the extreme metal scene they came from.
The record comes as a digipak CD, tape and vinyl, the last with a booklet and an obi strip, and a North American edition limited to 500 copies.
The band play Decibel Magazine's Metal & Beer Fest in Denver on 5 December.
